What is the U-Visa?
The U-Visa may provide an immigration relief for people who were victims of a violent crime and who cooperated with the authorities after having suffered substantial physical or emotional harm. Examples of crimes that qualify for the U-visa are: Domestic violence, sexual assault, rape, abduction, robbery with a firearm, etc.
What is VAWA?
VAWA allows spouses, children, and parents that are victims of domestic abuse to apply for a special visa. Victims must apply for themselves, and don’t need to notify the abuser at all.

Que es la Visa-U?
La Visa-U puede proporcionar un alivio migratorio para personas que fueron víctimas de un delito violento y que cooperaron con las autoridades después de haber sufrido daños físicos o emocionales sustanciales. Ejemplos de delitos que califican para la Visa-U son: Violencia doméstica, agresión sexual, violación, secuestro, robo con arma de fuego, etc.
Que es VAWA?
VAWA permite a los cónyuges, hijos y padres que han sido víctimas de abuso doméstico solicitar una visa especial. Las víctimas deben presentar la solicitud por sí mismas y no necesitan notificar al abusador en absoluto.
